イギリスで気をつけたいこと トイレ編

おはようございます。ラグビーW杯が始まって、ロンドンにも外国人が増えてきました。残念ながらチケットが高額で、日本戦はあいにく居住地から結構遠いところでやるようなので心の中で応援してます。

また、嬉しいことに先日イタリア在住の熱心な読者さんから、相変わらず面白くないですね！（≧∇≦）と励ましのお言葉を頂戴しました。もともと面白さなど求めず思ったことをひたすら書くようにしているので、このようなコメントを頂けるのは大変光栄です。

さて、イギリスに来て約1ヶ月が経って色々感じることも多く今回はトイレなど水回りについてちょこっと書いてみようと思います。

日本ではどこでトイレ使おうが基本的にはタダですが、こちらではそうもいきません。トイレに入場料がかかります。値段はまちまちですが、だいたい50ペンス(100円くらい)。ウォシュレット基本的にないと思ってください。ごく稀についている時がありますが、多分長らく使ってないために雑菌がウヨウヨしてると思います。お勧めしません。電車に乗って何処かへ行く、という人は電車のトイレをお勧めします。切符代払ってるので基本的に何回でも使えます。

次にトイレットペーパーですが、今の所トイレットペーパーがないという緊急事態に巻き込まれたことはありません。ただ、ここで少し厄介なことがあります。トイレットペーパーが枚単位で出てくるんです。言い換えると、トイレットペーパーの切れ目ごとにちぎれて出てくるという大変無駄なサービスをしてくれるんです。これは非常に鬱陶しいです…

次に手洗い場ですが、これは割と他の水回りにも共通して言えることですが、温度が極端です。お湯を捻ると火傷するくらいの温度で出るし、水を捻るとメチャクチャ冷たい。電車のトイレは熱いのしか出ません。石鹸使うとまともに手を水につけられなくて流すのに1分かかります。

以上、トイレで思ったことでした。

Good morning. RWC has started in UK and the number of foreigners has increased. I tried to purchase the ticket for the match, but it was so expensive that I couldn’t purchase. The match of Japan’s team will be held in the cities far away from Cambridge, so I can’t go. I will cheer them in my mind.

And I happily got a cheering coment “Your blog is still boring!（≧∇≦）” from a passionate reader in Italy. I’m writing what I felt or I thought without pursuing funny or interesting theme, so I’m really happy to get such a nice comment from a reader.

Anyway, almost 1month has passed since I came here. I felt many things in UK, but I’d like to write about toilet today.

In Japan, toilet is basically free for use. But you need to pay about 50pence for toilet around here. They almost always don’t have washlet, but sometime, there is. I don’t recommend using the washlet because anyone use that and there might be bacteria… If you have a plan to go some where by train, I’ll recommend using toilet in the toilet.

Next is about toilet. I’ve never been an emergency that is running out of papers, but there is a bit annoying thing. You will get a small peace of paper for one take. It means the box cut the paper for every perforation. That’s really annoying…

The third is about sink. The temperature of the water is extremely high or extremely low. On the train, whenever I wash my hand with soap, it takes more than a minute to get rid of.

These are things I felt about toilet.
